Hauntes Sites! [03 Apr 2008|04:53pm]
gambit2999

The two haunted sites in Kansas that are the most interesting to me are of Parsons and Alma.

Parsons has an Army Ammunitions Depot that is haunted by two people who died there; and, the cemetery in Alma is known to have people disappear from the cemetery while they are visiting.

I would love to share a more expanded story on both cities for anyone interested in hearing about them!

*blush* Hi! My name is Michelle, I'm thirteen, and love ghosts. I've been to a few places - Wichita State, Salina and I swear there's a ghost in my house, because I hate being alone and never really feel alone.

Anyway, can't wait to read the other stories! 8D;

Hi. My name is Rebekah and *takes a deep breath* I'm a Texan.

I know, I know. But on the 17th I'm moving to Augusta, KS. Being my first time ever living outside of San Antonio, I'm really nervous and excited.

Could y'all recommend some places to go have fun and experience the Wichita area living? I'm also going to be looking for (preferably) part-time work. Anyone know some good places to start my search out at?

Thanks in advance!

(x-posted to every active Kansas community I could find)

Hi, my name is Lisa and I just went to a ghost hunting "class" in Iowa last weekend. I actually live in Kansas City, Missouri, so I'm close to Kansas though. The guy who ran the class has a website, www.hauntedtimes.com

But he talked about the Sally House in Atcheson Kansas. It is interesting, but he says not a place for amateurs to go. But just wanted to join this community as a fellow ghost "hunter".

Question [15 Mar 2005|09:35pm]

Looks like this place is totally empty, but I'll take a shot. My name is Sarah, I'm 17, and live in Omaha, Nebraska. My mom's side of the family is from Kansas, particularly Chanute and Fort Scott. In fact, my grandpa was head of the Fort Scott National Cemetery for a while. He's even buried with my grandma there. I haven't heard any ghost stories from there, so I'm wondering if maybe you guys know anything.

Unfortunately, I have no ghost stories period. I do love them, though.
Any of you listen to Coast to Coast AM with George Noory or Art Bell? <3 Highly reccommend it.

Hey there!

This is like totally awsome! I mean really! i love the paranormal (sp?) and have always wanted to get a good camra and go see if i can get some pics that have like shadowy figures in the pic or if i could just get some creepy pics in general. any whoo... aw man i forgot to introduce myself... lol...

*starting over*

hello my name is Venessa and i'm origanlly from Kansas City Kansas, and have reloacated to Coffeyville Kansas for college. I love telling ghost stories and hearing them and would love to explore haunted sites.

Sour Castle:
Supposdely haunted by a guy that was either killed or killed himself in the house... blocked off i think... but is located in Shawnee Kansas.

From stories i've heard it isn't haunted by just one man, it is supposed to be haunted by the man, a baby, a woman, two kids, and several slaves from back in the day. but it's hard to separate fact from fiction.

So I will be first. I have always been interested in the paranormal, however, I didn't start to really get into it until a couple of years or so ago. Kansas is full of haunted places, but I have yet to visit one. Well no scratch that, about 10 years ago I was at The Brown Grand Theater in Concordia, but never saw anything. Wasn't really looking too hard either. My old high schools stage is supposedly haunted, but I think thats just an urban legend. I've heard so many variations of that story. In The Shadowlands page for Kansas, there is one on how its an old teacher who haunts the building, then there is another on on how it was a drama student who was the lead in play and died in a car accident on opening night. The book Haunted Kansas by Lisa Hefner-Heitz says that the student had actually graduated from school on was on her way to college in Lawrence when she died. I would love to go ghost haunting but no one I know will go with me as they are too scared. But I hope to find people who are interested in the same thing to come with me.
